Found History is the professional newsletter and blog of Tom Scheinfeldt. Tom is Professor of Digital Humanities in the Department of Digital Media and Design at the University of Connecticut, where he holds an affiliate appointment in the Department of History. Tom is Founding Director Emeritus of UConn’s Greenhouse Studios and a founding officer of the Corporation for Digital Scholarship, the not-for-profit home of Zotero, Omeka, Sourcery, and other core open source computing infrastructure for academic research. Formerly Managing Director of the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, Tom has directed several award-winning digital humanities projects, including The September 11 Digital Archive and THATCamp.Tom was educated at Harvard and Oxford and has written and lectured extensively about the history of digital culture, the history of science and technology, the history of museums, and the practice of public history. Tom is a contributor to Debates in Digital Humanities (University of Minnesota Press) and co-editor of Hacking the Academy (University of Michigan Press).
